Doomsday Clock, the sequel series to Watchmen by the superstar creative team of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, has seen a handful of delays already, to put it mildly. With the series initially switching from a monthly to a bi-monthly schedule, and then every subsequent issue still receiving delays. DC has announced that Doomsday Clock #9 has been given its 6th delay and is now scheduled for March 6th, 2019. Though delays have hurt the series for some, it has been given great reviews and has escalated the stakes of the tale tremendously in recent issues.
Doomsday Clock is not the only major DC title to receive another delay this week. DC Comics has canceled all orders for Batman Damned #3, which was solicited for March, and promises it will be resolicited at a later date for May. Batman Damned, the launch title for DC’s Black Label imprint which is intended for mature readers, made headlines upon release and has sold exceptionally well for the company. Though this is not the first delay this series has seen it has not appeared to have a negative impact on sales and critical reception.
