After discussing earlier this week about the importance of Star Wars television, we now have rumors of more series coming to the ever-growing Disney streaming service, Disney+. This time, the rumor concerns characters we saw on screen just last year in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
According to We Got This Covered, Lucasfilm is developing series about Lando Calrissian and Qi’ra. There were rumors last year that Lucasfilm was developing a film about Lando, but that development may have moved over to television. Lando, who was played by actor Donald Glover (Community) in Solo, was last seen getting swindled out of the Millennium Falcon by Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo. His series could possibly be a prequel to Solo, or take place afterwards as he transitions from a smuggler to the Administrator of Cloud City. The timing makes sense for his series as Lando is set to appear in Star Wars: Episode IX, played by Billy Dee Williams, who portrayed the character in the original Star Wars trilogy.
As for Qi’ra, her fate and story are unknown. At the end of Solo, she sends a message to Darth Maul, now known as just Maul, who requests that she join him on his homeworld of Dathomir to continue running criminal operations for Crimson Dawn. As for actress Emilia Clarke, who portrays Qi’ra, is in high demand especially with Game of Thrones ending this year, so her availability is most likely low. Regardless, fans have been asking for a continuation of that story since Solo premiered in theaters last May.
