‘Black Widow’ Will Not Be Rated R

After speculation that Black Widow was going to be the MCU’s first rated R film, Marvel head Kevin Feige has officially confirmed that the upcoming film starring Scarlett Johansson will not be rated R.

When Feige spoke to Comicbook.com, he went into detail about the rumor mentioning the movie being more adult-oriented than the current Marvel films. Feige responded to the rumors with the following:

“It never was going to be, Somebody writes, ‘I hear it’s R-rated!’ And then everybody writes it up.” The following video is a snippet of the interview

It was heavily rumored that the film might’ve been the first R-rated Marvel Studios project, but now it’s confirmed to not be true.

Black Widow has its writers and director set and it has been reported that it is going into production later this year, with a rumored 2020 release date.
