The newest addition to the TITANS lineup has just been cast. Joshua Orpin (The Neon Spectrum), an Australian based actor, has been announced for the role of Superboy for the second season of the DC Universe streaming service. This casting adds a heavy hitter to the team’s lineup and from what we’ve seen in the end credits scene of season 1, he will be accompanied by fan favorite Krypto the Super-Dog. Superboy’s arrival cannot come at a better time, considering the dire circumstances the team faced last time we saw them.
Superboy first appeared in 1945, as the younger iteration of Clark Kent during his adolescent years. Since then there have been multiple iterations of the character, including animated and live-action TV series. The TITANS version seems as if it will be based on the 90s version of the character which was a laboratory created clone of Superman. This theory is reinforced by character description which accompanied the announcement: “Superboy, aka Conner Kent, is the angsty teenager of steel searching for purpose and the truth about his past. While looking for answers, he crashes into the world of the Titans where he finds an unlikely home and surrogate family as well as revelations that carry more complications than he ever bargained for.”
TITANS season 1 is now streaming on the DC Universe streaming service!
