John Cena Eyed for James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

John Cena has been an actor on the rise for the past couple years. Appearing in films such as Trainwreck, Blockers, Daddy’s Home 2, and his most recent film Bumblebee. Now, Cena might be entering the superhero world. Variety reports that John Cena is being eyed to join Margot Robbie and Idris Elba in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel.

As of now, there is no word on who he might be playing. He could be playing King Shark however that would mean he would most likely be doing motion capture work. He also could be playing Peacemaker, the role that Dave Bautista was originally rumored for. And you know what, he would even make a good Polka-Dot Man because of his goofy personality.

Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis are also expected to reprise their respective roles in the movie which is now looking to be more like a direct sequel rather than a soft reboot. It was also reported that Idris Elba is now playing an original character instead of taking over as Deadshot.

James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie is looking to begin production this fall and is set to hit theaters in August 2021. Are you excited for John Cena to join the squad? Comment down below and follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
